Yea! because it's geared rather low 14/38 for GNCC racing /trails & the stock KFX intake tube is this...

And the Yamaha raptor 250 tube is this...

With a upgraded intake like the FCI the kFX will reach 80MPH ++

Gearing Gearing gearing!! you caN have ten horsepower and go 100 or 5000 and with the wrong gearing go fifty.

mine almost did 70mph stock with the 15T front sprocket I can get 75mph
intake and tune o the way

I know we're talking stock top speed, but modded, real world on the GPS with Yoshi pipe with spark arrestor, FCI, Hotcams stage 2, and 12.4 compression, pump gas, PC5 with auto tune at 3000' elevation we saw 79 mph at 9300 rpm. That's with 15/36 gearing and 21" (measured) tires. Slight downhill at 5000' got up to 81 mph.

mine will go 100mph if I ride it down Pike's Peak with a 200mph tail wind and never sissy out and lift the throttle.:D

Why are people always so concerned about top speed these are trail and mx quads not drag quads lol if you want pure top speed get abanshee but it wont be fun on the trails. and i doubt your raptor 250 does 67 considering the 660 raptor just hits 68 stock gearing

Yeah I dont know why people always want the fastest top speed. Its more important to get what feels right in the trails. Now it is fun to hold the bragging rights among friends, but drag racing isnt always about top speed, or about who can accelerate faster. Gearing needs to be changed to have the fast bike for different distances of drag races. My buddy thinks his kfx is hot shit because he can accelerate faster than me. he has stock gearing with 18 inch rear tires and the big three and cams and also has no idea what is inside the engine. When i have the big three and cams, 20 inch tires and 15/38 gearing. Duh he is going to accelerate faster than me. I dont think he understands how gearing works. So because of his ignorance he thinks my kfx is slow, which gets annoying. Even though top speed I go like 15 mph faster. All in all it doesnt matter because we trail ride and i prefer 20 inch tires and taller gears. He just doesnt understand that racing has more to do than just acceleration.

I also destroyed two trx450 acceleration and top speed and he argued that if you gear anything up you will win a race. He just doesnt understand, and he is one of those guys that you cant explain anything to him because he thinks he knows it all.

finding a good balance between top speed and acceleration is where its at.

I cant stand to ride 14/38 gearing when I go trail riding. I end up shifting a lot and it has so much torque its not even funny.

I'm the same as blue, I ran 14/38 again the last time I rode because I was blazing new trails. I hated it. 15/38 is where it's at with big 3 or big 4
